A busy session in Los Santos can turn annoying fast when somebody slips into your car while you are grabbing ammo, checking the map, or sorting out a mission. It is even worse with a ride you have spent ages tuning. Whether you are cruising solo or using one of your GTA 5 Accounts, it pays to sort vehicle access early. You do not need to wait for a problem. A quick change in the Interaction Menu lets you decide who can use the driver's seat and who is only there for the ride.
Open the right menu
Getting there is simple, though the control changes with your platform. On PC, tap M. PlayStation players can hold the Touchpad, while Xbox players should hold the View button. Once the Interaction Menu appears, move through the options until you reach Manage Vehicles. That is where the useful stuff lives. Pick Vehicle Preferences, then take a second to look through the choices instead of backing out straight away. You will find access settings, door controls, and a couple of handy options that can save a lot of hassle during free roam.
Set access before somebody jumps in
Vehicle Access is the setting that matters most. If it is set to Everyone, any nearby player may be able to enter your personal vehicle, including the driver's seat. Switch it to No-one when you want the car completely to yourself. If you are playing with people you know, Passengers is usually the better call. Your mates can hop in, enjoy the trip, and still cannot take over the wheel. There are also options for Friends, Crew, and Crew and Friends, so you can match the setting to the lobby you are in.
Choose No-one for a private drive.
Choose Passengers when you are happy to give people a lift.
Use Friends or Crew for sessions with people you trust.
Select Empty Personal Vehicle if someone is already inside.
Use Vehicle Doors to open the hood, trunk, or a single door remotely.
Keep control when the session gets messy
If another player is already sitting in your car, do not waste time trying to shake them off in traffic. Go back into Vehicle Preferences and select Empty Personal Vehicle. It clears other occupants out, so you can carry on without turning the moment into a long chase across the city. The Vehicle Doors option is worth remembering too. It is great for letting a friend into a specific seat, opening the trunk during a meet, or showing off what is under the hood. With GTA 5 Modded Accounts for sale in mind, keeping your favourite vehicles under your own control makes every session feel a bit less stressful.
